Blueberry 'book display troubles

Postby lincolnwhite » 16 Dec 2005, 19:13

I've installed 4.0.1 onto an original blueberry ibook. It starts up fine and appears to work... until the gui starts. The screen is spit with the right on the left and the left on the right and it looks like it's stretched out to twice the normal width. I can barely make out what's on the screen, and I've been able to log in. However do I fix this? Many thanks, I a newbie but really excited to have a linux computer.

drop over to a virtual terminal (ctrl+alt+fn+f1) log in as root then type "Xautoconfig" once youve done that go back to the gui (ctrl+alt+fn+f7) and see if your problem is fixed (if not trying hitting ctrl+alt+del once to make X restart)

Okay things are working normally now, the screen is at the right number of colors and it's all in the right place; however, the resolution is at 640 x 480 – can I bring it up to 800 x 600? I know the display will support that.

Thanks for the help, it is now usable!
