Error mounting /dev/loop0 on /mnt/runtime (Invalid argument)

Postby Fabio » 04 Aug 2007, 10:50

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to install YDL 5.0 (and subsequently update it to 5.0.2) on a PowerBook G4, without burning a DVD or CD's.

To do this, I'm first netbooting the powerbook into the YDL installation procedure, then I'm selecting the HTTP installation method and making it point to an internet mirror containing all YDL installation files and RPMS.

However, when the installation procedure gets to the point where it fetches the stage2.img file, I get the error I wrote in this message's subject.

The complete error sequence is the following:

Code: Select all
INFO  : mntloop loop0 on /mnt/runtime as /tmp/ramfs/stage2.img fd is 49
ERROR : failed to mount loop: Invalid argument
ERROR : Error mounting /dev/loop0 on /mnt/runtime (Invalid argument)

Note that the previous YDL release installed just fine this way.

Anyone's able to shed some light over this?
