Installation  Support

What is "Installation Support"?
Fixstars offers Installation Support for Yellow Dog Linux via YDL.net Enhanced accounts wherein all Enhanced account holders receive Installation Support for the duration of their account. This is provided via a web forum, viewable to all Enhanced members. This forum is maintained by one or more Fixstars engineers.
  • Monday - Friday.
  • Typically less than 24 hours response time.
  • Limited to one person per Enhanced account.
  • Limited to YDL systems owned and operated directly by Enhanced account holder.
  • Customer requires YDL.net Enhanced account username, passwd and web-browser.
  • Does NOT include telephone support.

What does "Installation Support" cover?
Officially supported computers are those for which Fixstars will provide Installation Support. If you purchase Yellow Dog Linux for a non-supported computer, Fixstars is not able to provide Installation Support and a product refund may be refused.
  1. Preparation of your drive(s) prior to installation (partition, format).
  2. Preparation of your computer's firmware and/or bootloader.
  3. Installation of Yellow Dog Linux via DVD.
  4. Gaining User access.
  5. Post installation configuration of networking (ethernet, wireless; not modem) and video (graphics card and monitor).
  6. All other issues are not supported under Installation Support and must either be taken to the public lists, or supported under a service contract with Fixstars.
