Introduction
With the latest (and last) Apple G5 PowerMacs (towers), the fan (thermal) control once again broke, rendering the machice a bit noisy with YDL v4.1. We posted a YDL v5.0 beta kernel to provide a solution. However, it is important to note that this kernel is not designed specifically for the YDL v4.1 installation, so there may be some "breakage".
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!Now, if you install this kernel as an additional kernal (and do not overwrite the default YDL v4.1 kernel), then you may modify yaboot to include both as a boot-time option, meaning you may readily switch back without issue.
