If you have discovered that OpenOffice will not properly Save files, do the following:
  1. Quit OpenOffice.org

  2. From the command line: rpm -e openoffice.org-kde [ENTER]

  3. Remove all .openoffice.org files in your home directory.

  4. Launch OpenOffice Writer.
